Defining moments
When I left Decatur.
I know, if you read all of my other pages on this website, you are most likely tired of constantly hearing about Decatur, and for that I'm not sorry. You've chosen to read this, therefore, you have brought this upon yourself.
Me leaving Decatur was the culmination of thousands of dollars and a few years of hard work from my father. It was also the culmination of several years' hopes from me and my brother. As a result, I had built up my expectations for the joy I would feel when leaving Decatur, yet I simply didn't feel any joy, just sorrow and glum. I mean, I know that I should've felt joy when leaving Decatur, but I just couldn't. At Decatur, I was the happiest I had ever been. I had great grades (except in math), great teachers, no enemies, and the best friends that I could ever ask for. Everyday at lunch I hung-out with the best people I had ever known. I wasn't ready to leave, then I did. Without a warning, the court case was won, my mother wouldn't stop fighting, so I simply left, and I was at IC. I wouldn't let go, Decatur had slowly defined me over the course of two years and it would keep defining me through my leaving.

My first day at Decatur
I get it, you're tired of reading about Decatur. Well too bad for you.
Just like my last day at Decatur, my first day at Decatur was also defining. Before Decatur, I had had no real friends. So as soon as I had arrived, I decided that that would be the case no more. Immediately, that decision worked out, for John had asked me to sit with him at lunch after I had simply cracked a few jokes and made a few sarcastic comments. John had lunch detention that day, so I sat with Dakota. That day, Dakota had been assigned by my homeroom teacher to show me the ropes of West Newton. Turned out that he was an amazing person and that we we're able to bond over Skyrim among other things, so I decided to stick with Dakota. One of the few things that I remember about that lunch is that as soon I sat down, a kid whose name has been long forgotten in the sands of my memory said "Welcome to the nerd herd."
While the rest of that day is long forgotten, the representation is not. For, for me, it represents a new beginning; a clean slate; a better future, for it was a result of things that happened on that day that the rest of my time at Decatur was the best time of my life.

The entire 2016 election cycle.
At this point what is the only thing that has the possibility of making this page any worse for the reader? Politics, that's what. And what is this section going to be about? Politics and how it has made me who I am.
Before the election cycle of 2016, I had almost no political knowledge. Heck, I even thought that Hillary Clinton (AKA, The Dark Lord Herself) was a republican. Then the election hit. Next thing you know, I'm loving Cruz, hating Donald, and wondering why there are so many republican candidates. As you might suspect, this anti-Trump stance was held very early in the election cycle, as at the time I felt that Trump was not a 'true' conservative. I now know that I was wrong.
When Trump selected Mike Pence, who I became a fan of when I caught his State Of The State Address, I started becoming a fan of a Donald Trump. Though it wasn't until when I was watching the RNC on Fox, that I became a staunch supporter of Donald Trump. After the RNC, I continued to do what few things I could do (which was limited to watching the news, reading news articles, and being notoriously conservative in my Social Studies class.)
Around the time of the election, my interest in politics peaked to where it still is today. I hated Hillary and Obama, loved the Donald and Mike Pence, and constantly read political news articles online. My peers at Decatur even told me that I should run for president. Lately I have decided to take their advice and chase a career in politics.
So how did the 2016 election cycle define me? It set the fires of politics ablaze in me, and could quite possibly have the end result of me being one of the greatest politicians to ever live.
